From our amazing tour of Troy we arrived in the town of Çanakkale ready to learn about the rise of Autaturk and World War I. We visited the sight of the battle of Galipolli where Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Great Britian and Turkey engaged in battle. Interesting note that from this battle alone New Zealand, Australia and Turkey became completely independent countries.
We walked on the beach where troops landed and saw memorials for those who died in the battle. While looking at the beach and rocks and shells at the beach Adam found a bullet that we can only think came from battle that was all green and tarnished from being in the ocean for such a long time.
For the rest of the day we toured around the memorial that was huge and laid out all along a mountain side. This tour really made us realize how important Autaturk was to the Turkeish people, he fought in the battle and shortly after revived Turkey.
